American Cream Draft

The American Cream Draft is a breed of draft horse originating in the United States.
American cream draft horse breed infoIt is the only breed of draft horses produced by the United States. As its name implies, horses have a cream coat. This breed comes from a small region of the Midwest. Although its many qualities, it is little available1.
American Cream Draft Horse is a fairly large, with sizes ranging between 1.50 m and 1.75 m. The only feature that differentiates it from other breeds of horses is her dress cream. This dress is made of hair and hair (mane, tail and fetlocks) beige.
Beginning 1900, a mare named Old Grammy was a foal cream. The descendants of this standard had all had the same color, regardless of the mother. Gradually, the breed has been improved by crossing with other breeds: Percheron, Shire, and Trait Flemish Brabant.

Thus we reached a specific breed whose studbook was created in the United States early 1980. Only the colt light cream dress is accepted. Indeed, growing up, the foal becomes a little darker. If it is too dark at birth, he became as an adult, chestnut, not cream. The eyes are blue at birth and darken with age sometimes to green or hazel (see gene champagne or cream in the robes of the horse).
