AraAppaloosa Horse

The AraAppaloosa, Arab-Appaloosa, Araloosa or Arappaloosa is a breed of saddle horse derived from crosses between pure-bred Arab and Appaloosa.

The intersection of Thoroughbreds and Appaloosas Arab is not new as crosses with the Arab occurred during reconstitution of the Appaloosa breed by breeders fans after the race has almost disappeared following the defeat of the Indians Nez Perce.

One of the Arabian stallions that are commonly found in the genealogy is AraAppaloosa Thoroughbred, a chestnut Mesaoud Egyptian Arabic, which was imported from Crabbet Park Stud in England in 1891.

Spotted horses in Egypt is sometimes described as an Arabian horse. The founder of the AraAppaloosa horseApHC (Appaloosa Horse Club U.S), Claude Thompson, was chosen in 1938 for spotted Arabian stallions, on the argument that horses shipped by European settlers to the origin of the Appaloosa breed could be originating from North Africa.

The purpose of the cross is to produce a horse with the late model and type of thoroughbred horses and the Arab dress of Pius spotted Appaloosa. The breeding of this horse is common in the United States where it is wanted for its elegance and spectacular.

Description

Thoroughbred and Appaloosa Arab are two races are known for their intelligence, endurance and sure-footedness. The AraAppaloosa is thus an excellent horse for endurance competitions. This horse is also mounted in western riding, and shows.

The average size of 1.50m to 1.60m at the withers. The conformation is similar to that of the Arabs: A fine head; long neck swan neck; a tail carried high and elegance. An AraAppaloosa conformation is finer than the Appaloosa, especially those derived from crosses with the Quarter Horse that is commonly seen in western riding competition.

Registers of race

An AraAppaloosa can be registered as half-blood by the Arab Arabian Horse Association. In addition, the Stud Book of the Appaloosa is always open to contributions of foreign blood, including pure-bred Arabs.

Many Arappaloosas are registered with the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC). They have their own organization, however, AraAppaloosa and Foundation Breeders’ International (AAFBI). The AAFBI was originally established in order to protect the “original” Appaloosa from the infusion of Arab blood and to promote the birth of a lineage of Appaloosa Arabian types.
