Arabian Horse

The Arabian horse breed is one of the oldest and most used. It is a noble horse from the body end, with thin and supple skin covered with short and shiny hairs. The hooves are small and hard, the perpendicularity is perfect.

It is a warm-blooded breed originating in the Arabian Peninsula, used Arab horse info23to create or improve certain breeds, including even the English thoroughbred. Among others, the placing of the pioneers in Europe of Arab thoroughbreds was the Italian Carlo Claudio Camillo Guarmani and English Lady Anne Blunt, (a capable and passionate connoisseur who organized the famous Crabbet Arabian Stud).

Its origin dates back to 3000 BC. In the sixth century the Bedouin practiced selective breeding, a selection criteria which is still valid today. Initially they formed seven main types, which subsequently were reduced to the three which are still known today. Arabic Bedouin (ASSIL) represents the original type and is in turn divided into three subtypes: kuhailan, strong and powerful; Siglavy, beautiful and elegant; muniqi, lightweight and fast.

Arabic is a pure breed and is a descendant of the three just mentioned. This is what we know as Arabic (spread around the world). The Arabian breed of horses includes eastern blood, while respecting morphology and the Arabic character, have in their family tree relatives Berber with Arabic and Persian with Syria. They were used to create or improve other races in every corner of the earth, first of all being the English Thoroughbred.

Coat: Gray, Chestnut (tan), bay (brown with mane and tail black), Morello (completely black).

The physical characteristics that distinguishes the Arabian horse breed from other breeds is that the vertebrae of its spinal column has 7 parts not 6, hence the compactness of its body. Hence its use in endurance sports in which the heart (the same size as any other horse) must be supported.
