Furioso-North Star Horse

The Furioso Furioso or Furioso-North Star is a breed of saddle horse originating from the Hungarian stud, Mezohegyes. In 1840 the stud imported a thoroughbred stallion named Furioso English, which gave birth to 95 stallions from 1841 to 1851. In 1843, North Star, another English stallion, was imported. It was a compact horse with a chestnut brown coat, short limbs, with a superb head. The descendants of the North Star became famous trotters on the Hungarian racetracks. The two distinct lineages carried the names of their founders, but in 1885 they were merged into one. The Furioso are popular in Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Germany.
